Swetha Lakshmi Kuchimanchi, CPB

Tell us about yourself.

I came to Canada as a student and studied at UBC to complete my CPA prerequisites. I then secured a position at a public practice firm, where I have been working for over 7 years. Along the way, I became a permanent resident and am now a proud Canadian citizen. Despite being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in 2019, I never gave up and have continued to pursue my studies and grow in my accounting career.

I’m currently pursuing both the US CMA and Canadian CPA. I am passionate about accounting and aspire to take on executive roles, expanding my expertise globally and moving beyond traditional accounting into leadership positions.

Why did you pursue the CPB designation?

I pursued the CPB designation to build a strong foundation in professional bookkeeping and accounting and to gain more professional confidence. Preparing for the designation strengthened my skills in full-cycle bookkeeping, compliance, and financial accuracy, while reinforcing ethical and professional standards. Earning the CPB has allowed me to showcase my skills to clients, support them more effectively, and enhance my professional credibility.

What does success look like for you?

Success means achieving professional growth while maintaining personal well-being, integrity, and balance, building a meaningful career while continuing to learn and live a healthy, grounded life.

What does a day in the life look like for you?

Currently, my day involves managing client bookkeeping, reconciling accounts, and studying for the US CMA, while maintaining a routine that balances productivity and personal well-being.
